Custom Jewelry
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
Custom jewelry can only be priced out on a per piece estimate. All prices depend on difficulty of design, how much metal you need, what metal you are making it in, how many gemstones you need to purchase, how many gemstones you are setting and other things like engraving, two metals, soldering parts and enameling. All custom design do start at $150 and go up from there.
How long does it take?
Depends on how quickly you need it. Generally once you approve a design and you are ready to move forward, it takes 4-6 weeks to complete.
Can I use my old jewelry?
YES! We strongly encourage you to use what you have. It is a great way to keep the sentimental attachment to a piece and save you money.
Can you reset my gemstones?
YES! We love helping people reuse what they already have. We will looking over your gemstones before we start designing and let you know if there could be any issues.
Do I have to have MY OWN ideas?
No, but it is great if you do. We do recommend you look at different designs, it helps us know which styles you like. We use those as a starting point to come up with something unique just for you. We also love being creative so if you tell us to run with it, we will.
Is it more expensive to custom make?
Not always, it depends on the piece you want to make. If you are reusing your metal and/or gemstones it will be less expensive than buying new. When you want that one-of-kind piece, it can be little more but still comparable to purchasing a new non custom piece.
Jewelry Repairs
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do repairs take?
In most cases repairs take one week but we do get some done in the same day. More complicated repairs can take 2-3 weeks. Every repair is different and we will always tell you how long a job should take when we look at the repair.
Do you size rings?
Yes, as long as they are made with the precious metals: silver, gold, platinum or palladium.
How much does sizing rings cost?
Sizings are not just a base rate price. All prices start at $35 and go up from there, depending on the material of the ring, how thick the ring is, how many sizes, how many gemstones are in the ring and it can also be a factor on how fast you want it.
Can you fix broken chains?
Yes, depending on the material of the piece. We will let you know if we believe the chain is repairable but most times we will not guarantee it. In most cases when a chain breaks it breaks at the weakest point and the rest of the chain is actually stretched out, meaning it can break again but it will be in new spot.
Can you size my sterling ring?
Yes, but not all. Depending on the ring design, if it has gemstones and what kind of gemstones, will determine if we will size it or not.
Do you repair sterling silver jewelry?
Yes, but not all, depends on the piece. We look at the design and what gemstones are set in it before we determine if we will repair it or not.
Can you repair my costume jewelry?
Yes, but not all. We determine this by looking at the piece in person. In the past we have repaired costume jewelry by making it wearable again without any changes to the piece or we give you suggestion on how we can make it wearable again by adding to something else. (example - a necklace we could not repair was turned into a bracelet and pin)
